Montini junior quarterback Israel Abrams announces commitment to Miami (Florida)
Montini junior quarterback Israel Abrams, one of the top quarterback prospects in the country, announced his commitment to the University of Miami during the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN Friday afternoon. Abrams is the No. 3 quarterback in the country, according to 247Sports composite.
Abrams, an Arlington Heights resident, threw for 4,072 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 224 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. With Abrams under center, Montini went 14-0 and set multiple school records on offense. The Broncos took down Rochester 47-33 to win the IHSA Class 4A championship.
Abrams was the Daily Herald DuPage County All-Area captain last season.
A MaxPreps All-American who was also an all-CCL/ESCC selection and the CCL/ESCC White Division’s Most Valuable Player in 2025, Abrams holds offers from multiple Power Four schools, including Auburn, Florida State and more. Montini has won 24 consecutive games dating back to last September. The Broncos were Class 3A champions in 2024.
During the Class 4A title game, Abrams threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 46 yards and a touchdown on 11 runs. As a sophomore, Abrams threw for 2,033 yards and 29 touchdowns with just three interceptions while rushing for 335 yards. The 6-foot-4, 194-pounder has a 24-0 record as Montini’s starting quarterback.
