Aurora man charged with reckless discharge of a gun
An Aurora man is facing charges after shots were fired Wednesday evening in Aurora, officials said.
Jovanny Rodriguez, 23, is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, a felony, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds were fired around 8:30 p.m. near the 400 block of Jackson Street, the release stated.
Upon investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect and arrest him.
“While no people or property were struck by gunfire in this case, that does not make this behavior harmless,” Police Chief Matt Thomas said. “Every round fired creates risk, and we will continue to hold those accountable who put our community in danger.”
