Man killed by Metra train near Geneva
A 25-year-old man died Thursday after being struck by a Metra train in Geneva.
Police and firefighters responded around 6 a.m. to the scene, located just west of the Western Avenue railroad crossing on the Union Pacific West Metra line in Geneva.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Geneva police say no foul play is suspected. The investigation has been turned over to the Metra Police Department.
The man’s name has not been released. Police and the Kane County coroner’s office are working on notifying the man’s family.
