Blurry focus of anti-fraud crackdown

An article in the March 28 issue of the Daily Herald noted that our vice president is heading up a new government anti-fraud task force which held its first meeting on March 27 and that President Donald Trump has “made a crackdown on fraud part of his chief domestic focus."

That focus may be somewhat out of focus since, including the period of his first term, Trump has granted clemency to over 70 allies, donors and individuals convicted of fraud, white-collar crimes and financial offenses. A California state report estimates that those pardons have wiped out almost $2 billion in victim restitution and taxpayer recovery.

I don't know the budget of the task force but perhaps there are some victims who could use some restitution. That might be a good agenda item for the next meeting.
