Fire that started in garage damages home in Aurora
An Aurora home was deemed uninhabitable following a fire on Monday morning that started in an attached garage.
Officials from the Aurora Fire Department say firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 1700 block of Violet Street just after 10:20 a.m. on March 30 and found a fully involved attached garage fire and a vehicle engulfed in flames in the driveway.
The fire extended to the residence, and a nearby home was exposed to high heat.
All occupants were able to exit the home before firefighters arrived, and no victims were found during the search. One woman was transported to the hospital for a medical emergency unrelated to the fire. No civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire.
Due to fire damage, the residence was deemed uninhabitable, and the fire’s cause remains under investigation.
