Fire destroys detached garage in Hampshire Saturday

A detached garage was destroyed during a fire Saturday in Hampshire.

Officials from the Hampshire Fire Protection District say firefighters responded to the 18N700 block of Gast Road at about 2:15 p.m. on March 28 to find a three-car detached garage on fire. Crews brought the blaze under control in roughly 13 minutes. One civilian was injured and evaluated on the scene.

Officials say the fire originated from embers produced by open burning occurring near the garage.
