Palatine man charged in business burglary

A Palatine man faces a burglary charge in connection with a break-in at a local business last week.

Kevin Garcia, 25, of the 1400 block of Ports O’Call Drive, was denied pretrial release at a court hearing on Friday, authorities said.

The burglary occurred just before 5 a.m. March 23 at European Service at Home Inc. on the 500 block of North Hicks Road. Police said they determined that entry had been gained through a ground-floor window and surveillance footage recorded an offender inside removing items valued at more than $900.

The investigation identified Garcia as a suspect and he was arrested by Palatine officers Thursday, officials said. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
