Pedestrian seriously injured when struck by two vehicles in Gurnee
A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Saturday night when he was struck by two vehicles while crossing a road in Gurnee, police said.
The 54-year-old Gurnee man was crossing Grand Avenue east of Dilleys Road, outside of a designated crosswalk, about 7:45 p.m. when he was hit by a Honda CR-V driven by an 81-year-old Beach Park woman, according to Gurnee police.
The man was then hit by a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, driven by a 26-year-old Great Lakes woman, police said. The truck then was struck by a Kia driven by 35-year-old North Chicago woman.
The Gurnee man was taken from the scene to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries, police said.
The Honda driver left the scene, but was later found at her residence and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. The Kia and Chevrolet drivers both remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
