Aurora U. to host award-winning trumpeter

Celebrating a second annual Day of Generosity, a campus fundraiser, Aurora University will host a concert by jazz icon Arturo Sandoval on Thursday, April 9.

Sandoval will perform at 7 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium at the Institute for Collaboration, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora.

The public is invited. While admission is free, a $25 donation to AU's Future Promise Fund is suggested.

A 10-time Grammy Award winner, Sandoval holds six Billboard awards and is a Kennedy Center honoree and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient.

A protégé of jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie, Sandoval is known worldwide for his dazzling trumpet performances, extraordinary musicianship and joyful stage presence.
