Lake Michigan water is not worth the cost
I live in unincorporated Lake County. The powers that be thought it best for my subdivision to be connected to Lake Michigan water. I figured it would be about the same or a little more for the switch from well water to Lake Michigan water.
I got my first two-month bill for the new connection. My bill went up over $150 compared to the previous well-water bill.
We had no problem with the well water for the past 50 years. The Lake Michigan water is definitely not worth the $75 extra each month. The powers that be in government really stuck it to the unincorporated area homeowners.
