Promises broken

Trump has broken every promise about avoiding wars, especially those involving regime change in the Middle East. He attacked Iran without congressional approval and didn’t even bother to inform all leaders in both houses.

Let’s recall his pronouncement after our last attack on Iran’s nuclear weapons program that we had obliterated it. Really? Did he lie?

Iran had not attacked American bases until he carried out this attack. There was no imminent planned Iranian attack. Thus, there was no cause for war.

He said our servicemen may suffer casualties as a result of this alleged “noble” aggression.

All this is a logical consequence of his decision to withdraw from the Iran deal that was keeping Iran from advancing its nuclear program. Naturally Iran proceeded to resuscitate that program to defend itself.

Now, Iran has carried out multiple retaliatory attacks. He’s called on Iranians to overthrow their regime. If they do, that’s an invitation to being slaughtered.

When is the comatose GOP going to rein him in?
