Cheering in the streets
Well, I’m confused. Maybe the critics can explain something for me. Why, oh why, after the “immoral and criminal” strikes began against Iran did a great many Iranians here begin dancing and singing in the streets, obviously thrilled when the attack was announced, and especially when they learned that those attacks had eliminated the supreme leader and a bunch of his top men over there? In the case of those still in Iran, when they saw it occurring with their own eyes, they too, began celebrating, although not as publicly, fearing for more violence against themselves by the regime’s remaining military.
Walt Zlotow said in a recent letter, “How many thousands of Iranians, Israelis and, yep, Americans will be killed in Trump’s war is yet to be determined.” Trump's war, you say? He was only about 35 when this war started 47 long years ago, and he was not in any government position. Is it his because he's decided it's time to end it, once and for all?
Plus, have you ever wondered how many tens of thousands (or is it hundreds of thousands, maybe even into the millions?) that this regime killed, both in Iran itself (think of the protesters in the streets) and throughout the world through their proxies over the past 47 years? Or maybe that’s inconsequential to you?
By the way, the entire world is witness to that regime’s 47-year assault on freedom, democracy, peace, not to mention the rule of law, and not just within Iran, but all around the planet. I sincerely hope you’re not disappointed that President Trump is putting an end to their assault on same.
