Pottawatomie Garden Club opens season with programs on herbs
The Pottawatomie Garden Club will host its first meeting of 2026 on Monday, March 23 at the New Covenant Bible Church, 4N780 Randall Road, St. Charles.
The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a social time followed by a presentation and business meeting.
This month, Mary Lautanen-Raleigh will talk about the uses of herbs; from growing to preserving and using them in the home. Anyone interested in becoming a member the club may join by attend a meeting.
The Pottawatomie Garden Club was originally established to contribute to the beauty of St. Charles by adding plants and flowers and to this day the club has stayed true to its mission.
In addition to planting flowers in the spring and the fall in the downtown area of St. Charles, the club plants memorial trees in honor of past members, awards scholarships to students in St. Charles Unit District 303, awards a landscape commendation award to local businesses and hosts a garden walk every other year.
