MAC’S Lakeside Pavilion summer concerts include classical, jazz, R&B and country
McAninch Arts Center announced on Friday its free Lakeside Pavilion outdoor concert series will commence July 8, with a performance by the 30-member Chicago Brass Band.
A pops concert by the New Philharmonic, conducted by Kirk Muspratt, follows on July 9.
WDCB-sponsored jazz concerts follow. C.J. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band perform zydeco and blues on July 15, and saxophonists Eric Alexander and Vincent Herring perform on July 22.
The concert series goes retro with Electric Avenue — The 80s MTV Experience. Next up is an evening of Broadway and pop favorites by The Barricade Boys on July 23 followed by Uptown Soul on July 30.
The summer series concludes Aug. 6 with the Rhinestone Cowgirls’ tribute to female country music icons.
