Cannabis dispensary proposal in Libertyville withdrawn
An application to locate a cannabis dispensary in the former Baker’s Square store at 1195 S. Milwaukee Ave., in Libertyville has been withdrawn.
The request by Prairie Retail Holdings LLC was to have been considered Tuesday by the village board. The meeting was to have been held at the Libertyville Civic Center due to expected public interest but because of the withdrawal, the meeting will be held at its normal location at 7 p.m. at village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.
Prairie Holdings had asked the zoning code be modified to allow adult use cannabis dispensaries as special uses in commercial shopping center districts and also was seeking a special use for Baker’s Square on the south end of the Greentree Plaza strip center.
Residents to the west opposed the measure and the advisory plan commission unanimously recommended against it.
