Thanks to people who helped when needed

On Feb. 12, I had an appointment in Arlington Heights. Likely, I was in a hurry, so when I got into my car, I forgot that I had left my bag on the roof of the car. The bag contained lots of important stuff.

I was traveling northwest on Rand Road when a driver pulled up my left side at a stop light to let me know that a bag fell from the roof of my car at the traffic circle on Golf Road in Des Plaines. He said he tried to get my bag but it was not possible. I thanked him and headed back to the traffic circle to see if I could find the bag.

Unfortunately, when I got there, I found nothing. I went home, canceled my appointment and called my wife.

I sheepishly told her my story. Already on an errand, she went to the traffic circle and searched the area and found my water bottle, but no bag. She came home and then went back out to the circle to search the area and surrounding streets.

Then her cellphone rang. The caller was a staff person from Chase Bank in Mount Prospect. The person said that a person had come into the bank with my bag. Apparently, this person had noticed that I was a Chase customer from the bag’s contents.

So, my wife came home and we took off for the bank. The contents were intact. Because of privacy issues, I unfortunately don’t know who brought it the bank.

“Thanks” is all I can say. To my wife, to the driver on Rand Road, to the person who was able to obtain my bag and take it to Chase Bank and to Chase Bank’s staff.
