Authorities investigating skeletal remains found at Baker’s Lake in Barrington

Cook County Forest Preserves police are investigating after human skeletal remains were reported found more than two weeks ago in a wooded area at Baker’s Lake in Barrington.

Forest preserve police first responded to the scene at about 2:25 p.m. Feb. 14, officials said. They revisited the site Friday along with investigators from the Cook County sheriff’s and medical examiner’s offices.

The death of the still-unidentified person was not recent, authorities said.

The cause of death and identification will be determined by the medical examiner, police said.

There is no indication of danger to the public pertaining to this case, authorities said.
