Lots to lose in giving up voter data
Regarding the Our View supporting Darren Bailey for the Republican nomination for governor: The real question is, what do we have to lose? The answer is all of our personal information.
The Trump administration has requested sensitive voter registration data from Illinois, including personal information like driver's license numbers and Social Security numbers, raising privacy concerns. We must remember, Trump sued the IRS because an employee released his personal tax return. Maybe we, as a group, should threaten to sue the president for demanding our personal information be released. I do not see the complete voting records with this information posted in the Daily Herald for Bailey, Dabrowski, Mendrick and Heidner. What do they have to hide?
Secret voting is a legal requirement in the United States to ensure the privacy and integrity of the electoral process. However, the Trump administration's requests for voter records have raised concerns about privacy and the legality of accessing sensitive voter information. Trump’s request would nullify the legal “secret vote.”
What does the White House have to hide? Maybe the White House does not feel they can win a fair election. It should be easier for people to vote. In this respect I think DuPage County has done a good job.
