Q&A

Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?

Safety of our citizens. Though police is doing a great job in keeping the community safe. I am an Elmhurst resident for last 40-plus years.

Always thought Elmhurst was very safe and free from crime. But recently in my back yard on York Road a restaurant was broken into at night. I will ensure county and local police are funded properly.

If you are an incumbent, describe a few important initiatives you’ve led. If you’re not an incumbent, describe a few ways you would contribute to the board.

I am not an incumbent.

Is there a specific service or amenity that is lacking in the county? If so, how do you propose to provide and fund it?

Help the most vulnerable, who need the help most. Even though the county is doing a great job in helping the most vulnerable. I feel still a lot needs to be done to help them. By looking at the budget, I will ensure reallocating the funds from other projects without jeopardizing the safety of our citizens.

With the county's budget being squeezed by federal funding cuts and other factors, what initiatives would you support to increase revenue and/or save money?

The county is doing its best under the circumstances they are in. We have to be innovative in finding new resources of revenue, take a good look at the budget and see where cuts can be made without hampering the public services and reallocate those funds where needed most.

What is the single most important issue facing your district, and how should the county address it?

Public safety. Even though our police are doing great job in protecting the public. But I still feel the police and state’s attorney should have all the tools they require to do their job more efficiently.

Why are you the best person to serve in this role?

I am the best person for the job based on my experience with years of working in the private and public sector.

Working as a manager, I reduced the expenditures every year by looking carefully at the budget provided. I will be a full-time board member available to my constituents to listen to their concerns and try to resolve them.
