No injuries in fire at Brown’s Chicken in East Dundee

No one was injured in a Wednesday fire at Brown’s Chicken in East Dundee that caused an estimated $40,000 in damage.

The East Dundee and Countryside Fire Protection District said in a news release that firefighters responded at about 10:40 a.m. to the restaurant at 529 Dundee Ave. and found a fire in the kitchen vent system.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze within five minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
