Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?

I believe effective law enforcement requires constant evaluation and improvement. After more than 30 years of protecting the citizens of DuPage County, I am committed to continuing that mission as sheriff. I will bring experienced leadership, integrity and a clear vision for the future of public safety in our county.

How would you describe the relationship between the sheriff’s office and the county board? What steps would you take to improve that relationship?

As the current Undersheriff of DuPage County, the command staff and I maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with the county board. I am open to their input and suggestions, and we work together to achieve shared goals focused on protecting the citizens of DuPage County.

How would you describe the sheriff’s office's reputation when it comes to dealing with the media and providing public information about crime in unincorporated areas? How would that change if you are elected?

While some progress has been made in media relations, further improvement is still needed. Although media deadlines and inquiries are understood, limitations during active investigations can restrict the information that may be shared to protect the integrity of the case. As your next sheriff, I will continue efforts to strengthen communication with the media while balancing transparency with investigative requirements.

Are there enough deputies on the street, and are they properly deployed? What changes would you make?

We are currently approaching our allotted headcount for the Law Enforcement Bureau, as approved by the county board for FY26. Patrol deputies are properly deployed in accordance with operational needs and office policy. Staffing levels and assignments are continuously monitored to ensure adequate coverage, public safety and effective response capabilities throughout the jurisdiction.

I have proven my commitment to public safety, strong leadership and a deep understanding of our community’s needs. I am dedicated to protecting every resident with integrity, fairness and transparency while strengthening collaboration between law enforcement and the community to build trust and ensure a safer DuPage County.
