Woodlands Academy hosts its spring 2026 open house

Girls in sixth grade and up and their families are invited to an enriching and engaging experience on Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart’s 41-acre campus in Lake Forest.

Learn about the educational opportunity offered at Woodlands during its spring open house on Monday, March 9. Students, faculty and staff will share information about the school’s academic programs, extracurricular offerings and exceptional community with prospective students and families. The program runs from 5-7 p.m.

Woodlands was named as the best Catholic high school and the best all-girls high school on the North Shore, according to 2026 rankings by Niche, an independent research company. Woodlands is also ranked the number two Best All-girls High School in Illinois, with an overall grade of “A+,” in this year’s Niche report. This is the seventh consecutive year that Woodlands Academy has received the top grade from Niche for its faith-based education of young women.

In addition, Woodlands Academy was honored as an inaugural recipient of the Illinois Governor’s Blue Ribbon Schools award in October 2025. Woodlands had also received recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2025 and 2020 in the Exemplary High-Performing Schools category.

Located at 760 E. Westleigh Road in Lake Forest, Woodlands Academy is a Catholic, independent, day-and-boarding, college-preparatory school for young women of all faiths in ninth through 12th grade. Founded in Chicago in 1858 and located in Lake Forest since 1904, Woodlands is part of a worldwide network of more than 150 Sacred Heart Schools that spans the United States and 40 other countries on six continents.
