Des Plaines-area man accused of having child sex abuse materials

A 24-year-old Des Plaines-area man has been charged with possession of child sexual abuse materials.
Matthew Feeney, of the 9000 block of Capitol Drive, was arrested Thursday, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Thomas Dart announced the arrest Saturday, saying investigators received information Wednesday that Feeney’s cellphone had more than 100 abuse images on it, including images of children under the age of 13.
On Saturday, a Cook County judge ordered Feeney be detained pretrial.
Illinois renamed child pornography as child sexual abuse material in January.
