Vineyard Church offers free fun and games at Friend-Fest

For kids who like fun, food, and playing games, Vineyard Church of Elgin will host Friend-Fest 2026 on Saturday, March 7. Local families are warmly invited to bring kids through fifth grade to enjoy the activities, and everything is free.

“Friend-Fest is a wonderful event for the community that is fun and safe for kids,” said Molly Ackerman, director of worship and children's ministry at Elgin Vineyard. “When everything’s expensive, and life seems stressful, Friend-Fest offers a place where parents can set worries aside and enjoy time laughing and playing carnival-like games with their kids.”

“My grandson, Jonah, came last year to Friend-Fest for the first time, and he loved it! He said to make sure and let him know next year when it is happening so he can come,” Debbie said.

All the fun takes place downstairs in the community room, and a “Calm Room” with quiet activities will also be provided for kids who appreciate a more peaceful setting.

Friend-Fest will be 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, 220 Division St. in downtown Elgin.
