Larkin’s Dance Academy to present ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’

Larkin High School’s Visual and Performing Arts Academy’s Dance Academy will present a dancing adaptation of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, and 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Larkin High School auditorium, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Tickets, available at the door by cash or check only, are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and children.

The production is part of Larkin’s annual “Bring a Book to Life” tradition, in which they translate a work of literature to a dance performance. Audiences will see the characters of Lewis Carroll’s 1865 children’s book and follow Alice on her journey, where she meets a White Rabbit, Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, The Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Caterpillar, the Queen of Hearts, as well as many other characters and creatures.

Cast members include Alice: Emily O'Hearn; Queen of Hearts: Mia Satterfield; Mad Hatter: Veronica Rivas-Salazar; Cheshire Cat: Scottie Campbell; White Rabbit: Lizzie Bellock; Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum: Makenna Bryant and London Fitch; Caterpillar: Calye Johnson.
