Forté Handbell Quartet brings ‘Resonance’ to Barrington UMC

Music lovers of all ages are invited to experience “Resonance,” a handbell concert presented by Forté Handbell Quartet, an advanced ensemble from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The concert takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington. It’s the only Illinois performance on the quartet’s national tour.

“Resonance” describes a sound that is deep, full, and lingering. Through this concert, Forté invites audiences to slow down, listen, and share in the wide range of emotions expressed through the music. The quartet hopes that what listeners hear will echo in their hearts long after the final note fades. Known for their skillful, energetic performances and diverse repertoire, Forté captivates audiences with a broad range of musical styles.

The program features beloved original compositions for handbells, familiar movie themes from “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Titanic,” contemporary and traditional Christian music, as well as baroque and classical favorites. Together, these selections create an engaging and accessible concert experience for listeners of all ages.
