Round Lake Area Park District acquires Fawcett Property
The Round Lake Area Park District has announced the acquisition of the 6-plus acre Fawcett parcels donated by the Fawcett Family. This addition presents a great opportunity to expand the district’s natural spaces and provide a new passive park for the community to enjoy. The district also extends its appreciation to the village of Round Lake for its collaboration and contribution, which helped make this project possible.
The district’s parks department has already started preparing the property by clearing underbrush and removing invasive species. This work helps the healthy trees and natural areas thrive.
“The Round Lake Area Park District is grateful for the generous donation of beautiful lakefront property on Round Lake from the Fawcett Family and the Village of Round Lake,” said Katie Gamroth, Executive Director of the Round Lake Area Park District. “This incredible gift provides an exciting opportunity to create a scenic park where our community can connect with nature and enjoy the lakefront. Over the coming years, we plan to thoughtfully develop this space with passive park amenities, ensuring it becomes a cherished destination for generations to come.”
The Round Lake Area Park District remains committed to enhancing local green spaces and providing safe, inviting areas for residents to enjoy and connect with nature.
