Control immigration but follow the law

The Daily Herald recently reported that ICE agents have been accused of harassing and attacking citizens who follow their vehicles. DHS also released data of 182 ICE vehicles being “attacked” by observers and protesters, an unbelievable statistic.

After the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, DHS came out with a false story about each of the killings in order to blame the victims before they could have possibly known the facts. Multiple video (not AI) recordings contradicted their claims. The victims were not assaulting ICE officers or trying to ram their cars.

If ICE agents don’t want to be followed or whistles blown when they are near, it would not be necessary if they followed the rules of effective law enforcement. This means wearing body cams, showing their faces, presenting ID and judicial warrant when arresting someone and refraining from thuggish tactics. It would require they not smash windows of cars, pull people out of their cars by force, break down the doors of people’s homes, trash or steal their property or detain little kids or American citizens.

ICE also detains people in courthouses where they have gone to attend their asylum hearings. They traumatize citizens by forcibly detaining them and asking questions later.

Some readers are asking why “no one complained” when millions of people were deported during the Obama administration. It is because Obama’s DHS used legal methods. Agents weren’t out on the streets wearing masks, throwing people on the ground or deploying teargas and pepper spray. They targeted criminals and those who were more recent arrivals. They didn’t deport people who had been brought to the U.S. as children or longtime law-abiding residents. People who were following immigration rules for applying for asylum were not targeted, nor were unaccompanied children.
