Durty Nellie’s special use transferred following owner’s death

The Palatine village board this week approved an ordinance transferring the special use permit for Dirty Nellie’s from the late co-owner Mark Dolezal to the business entity that operates the bar, allowing its continued operation under the same conditions.

Village Manager Reid Ottesen explained at Monday’s village board meeting, the original special use for the restaurant and pub at 180 N. Smith St. was issued to Dolezal, who died in July, rather than the LLC operating the restaurant and bar.

Ottesen said the special use will be transferred to the business, rather than to an individual.

“All the terms and conditions of the old special use will remain in place,” he said.

In a related action, the village’s liquor commission acknowledged a transfer of 95% of the ownership shares from Mark to his wife, Pamela Dolezal, with his brother, Jim Dolezal, retaining the remaining 5%.
