Naperville’s St. Thomas the Apostle to host Taizé prayer service
Take a calming, meditative break in the early days of Lent by attending a Taizé prayer service on Monday, Feb. 23, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Naperville.
Taizé prayer, used by an ecumenical religious community in Taizé, France, since the World War II era, is characterized by simple sung refrains, Scripture readings, ritual action, and vocal and silent prayer.
By its very simplicity, Taizé welcomes the mystery of God and allows that mystery to become tangible.
It will begin at 7 p.m. in the Lighthouse room of the church, 1500 Brookdale Road.
