Evidence exists to support ICE officers
The tragedy taking place in Minneapolis sparked a Jan. 31 Daily Herald editorial calling for the firing of the secretary of Homeland Security … hmmm.
The editorial does not establish the legitimacy of the ICE operations. The letter does not mention the weaponized vehicle. The letter does not mention the definition of “domestic terrorism’. The lady encountered ICE, drove her vehicle toward an agent, hit the agent and was shot in the process. The lady had “encountered” ICE earlier in the morning, several times.
Several days later a protester was shot and killed by ICE. The letter does not mention the legitimacy of the ICE operation. The editorial does not mention the protester had a gun and was resisting and struggling with ICE agents. Yes, he was legally carrying. But he was also in contact with agents and struggling with them. A later video recorded this gentleman spitting at agents and kicking a vehicle’s rear taillight into destruction. This may shed light on his threatening demeanor perhaps witnessed by the agents although not evident in the tragic lethal encounter.
The editorial cites the “video recordings” as “not even a hint” of evidence … hmmm. Our hint gauges do not agree. And the evidence goes way beyond these videos. ICE agents’ words, threats, tones, physical contact … the investigation is ongoing. To conclude at this time DHS is in the wrong is to deliberately try to manipulate a tragedy for your own bias and undermine a legitimate investigation. Daily Herald Editorial Board, I’m disappointed.
