League of Women Voters of Palatine Area introduces VOTE411.org, sets candidate forums

A local League of Women Voters chapter wants to help inform voters ahead of the March 17 primary.

They are hosting a bevy of candidate forums and offering a new online resource as well.

The candidate forums scheduled for February cover the primary races for the 5th and 8th Congressional districts and the 52nd Illinois House District.

The League of Women Voters of the Palatine, Barrington and Schaumburg Areas is introducing VOTE411.org to allow voters to check their registration status, find out how to register, learn when and where to vote, discover who the balloted candidates are and hear directly from them about their positions on key issues.

At VOTE411.org, voters can access personalized ballot previews, find voting locations, get reminders for deadlines and view recordings of candidate forums.

Congressional and state candidate information will be posted there as it becomes available.

“We believe an informed voter is an empowered voter,” LWVPA President Chris Jessee said in a statement. “Our tools are here to ensure that everyone is well-informed and ready to cast their vote. We’re very excited to introduce our VOTE411 guide, a national League tool now used by all Illinois Leagues. With this and our candidate forums, citizens have everything they need to make a robust voting plan.”
