Officials ID Lake Villa man as victim of fatal Grayslake crash

The victim of a recent two-vehicle crash in Grayslake was publicly identified Tuesday.

Preliminary autopsy reports indicate that Jonathan Williams, 19, of Lake Villa, died from blunt force head injuries suffered in the crash on Monday, according to a press release from the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

Williams was driving through the intersection of Washington Street and Atkinson Road in Grayslake around 2:30 p.m. when his vehicle struck another that was turning through the intersection. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

There is no update to the status of the other victim, who was being treated for injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation by the Grayslake Police Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County.
