Meet Negro League baseball player at Aurora event

People can meet Negro League baseball player Dennis Biddle during an event scheduled for Friday night in Aurora.

The event is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the David L. Pierce Art and History Center, 20 E. Downer Place.

Biddle’s traveling Negro League Museum will be showcased.

Biddle played for the Chicago American Giants. He tried out for the Chicago Cubs, but broke an ankle in spring training, ending his baseball career. He is the co-founder of the Yesterday’s Negro League Baseball Players Foundation.

The event was organized by the city of Aurora, Ward 9 Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman-At-Large Will White, Community Advocacy Awareness Network Director Mary Fultz and Aurora Public Art.
