A tale of two tyrants
So, what's the difference between Putin's invasion to acquire Ukraine for Russia's national security versus Trump's threatened acquisition of Greenland for America's national security? There is none.
Both Presidents are tyrants. No wonder that Trump unashamedly sides with and caters to Putin on Ukraine issues. In both countries there are apparently no effective constraints on exercising their powers unilaterally.
That's understandable in a dictatorship like Russia but should be a cause for alarm in a republic like America, whose Constitution provides for checks and balances and separation of powers; however, with both the Legislative/Congress and the Judicial/Supreme Court abdicating theirs to this particular Executive.
And for what reason(s)? One might be the fear of all-too-real retributions from a revengeful, unconstrained, narcissist, authoritarian, nasty-name-calling president, which only evidences their cowardice.
By the way, I am a Republican but voted for president on a write-in candidate basis in both the 2020 and 2024 elections.
