Operator of small snowplow struck by Metra train in Bartlett

A Metra train reportedly struck a Bobcat-type snowplow vehicle at the Bartlett commuter station at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, officials said.

The Elgin-bound train on the Milwaukee District West line struck the small vehicle that was being operated by a Bartlett village employee, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.

The vehicle operator was transported to Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village. His condition wasn’t immediately available.

There were no injuries on the train, Gillis said. Train traffic on the line was halted for about an hour in the aftermath of the collision, he added.

Bartlett police could not be immediately reached for comment.
