One hurt in Geneva-area house fire

A person suffered a minor burn during a house fire Friday near Geneva, according to the Geneva Fire Department.

The house, near Kirk and Hill roads in an unincorporated area, sustained significant damage, the department said in a news release.

It happened around midnight. When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the rear of the house and a second-story window.

All the residents were able to get out safely before responders arrived.

The person with the burn was evaluated by paramedics and declined further treatment.

The home is uninhabitable.
