Major flight delays at O’Hare due to equipment failure

Thousands of O’Hare International Airport passengers are experiencing delays Tuesday morning related to an equipment problem, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

More than 500 flights have been impacted with an average delay of 82 minutes, officials said.

NBC 5 has reported the issue is related to a pipe bursting at the main air traffic control tower, which is closed.
