Two dogs rescued as car fire threatens Arlington Heights home

A car caught fire early Friday in Arlington Heights causing minor damage to the exterior of a nearby home, as firefighters were able to prevent its spread inside, officials said.

The fully involved vehicle was ablaze about 3 a.m. next to an occupied residence on the 100 block of South Evergreen Avenue.

First responders confirmed all occupants had safely exited the home, but two dogs were unaccounted for. As the vehicle fire was being extinguished, firefighters quickly found and rescued the two pets, officials said.
