Nominations sought for Elgin Mayor’s Awards for Preservation

The Elgin Heritage Commission is seeking nominations for the annual Mayor’s Awards for Preservation.

Applications are available on the city of Elgin’s website at elginil.gov/MayorsAwards. The annual Mayor’s Awards honor Elgin residents, groups and organizations for preserving the city’s heritage while also educating the community about Elgin’s unique architecture, neighborhoods and history.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 20. Award recipients will be selected by the Elgin Heritage Commission and honored at the annual Mayor’s Awards for Preservation on May 5.
