M.O.V.E. Foundation opens registration for Parkinson’s Bootcamp in Lombard
The M.O.V.E. Foundation in Lombard is taking registration for its spring Parkinson’s boot camp cohort, beginning Tuesday, March 3.
In partnership with the Lombard Park District, this cohort will be held at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center, offering an opportunity for individuals newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease to take charge of their health through movement and community.
M.O.V.E. — which stands for multimodal, over-exaggerated, volitional exercise — is an early intervention program designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
Participants will engage in nine boot camp-style classes developed by physical, occupational, and speech therapy experts. The spring 2026 cohort runs from March 3-31, with sessions held Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
On Friday, March 13, m.o.v.e. will host a Care Partner Support Day, inviting families and caregivers to join in the fun and learn practical ways to support their loved ones.
“We’re thrilled to open registration and keep the M.O.V.E.ment going,” said Erica Fenton, executive director and founder of the M.O.V.E. Foundation. “Each cohort brings new members to our community and new energy to our classes. It’s inspiring to see participants discover just how strong and capable they are.”
Research shows that targeted, high-effort exercise can help improve mobility, mood, and quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s. m.o.v.e. takes this evidence-based approach and turns it into an empowering, team-driven experience that fosters hope and resilience.
Spaces in the third Lombard cohort are limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Participation is free and priority enrollment is reserved for new participants who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s within the past 10 years; Lombard residency is not required.
This spring cohort is made possible through a generous matching donation from a former M.O.V.E. participant — doubling all contributions to M.O.V.E. up to $3,500 through March 3.

About M.O.V.E.
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological disease that currently has no cure. While exercise has long been known to help manage symptoms, not all movement is created equal — and that’s where M.O.V.E. comes in.
M.O.V.E. is a boot camp-style program developed and led by speech, occupational, and physical therapists, with added support from social work experts. The program’s approach promotes large, deliberate (“over-exaggerated”) movements that counteract the smaller, slower motions Parkinson’s often causes — training the brain to move bigger through the power of neuroplasticity.
Designed as an early intervention program, M.O.V.E.’s vision is that every person diagnosed with Parkinson’s will complete a M.O.V.E. boot camp within five years of diagnosis.
