Aurora man gets 6 years in drug, guns case

The Aurora Police Department announced Monday that a man was sentenced to six years in prison in a drug and guns case.

Eric Rosales, 18, was sentenced Nov. 14, after pleading guilty to a narcotics offense and a gun offense, according to a news release.

In April 2025, police seized 13 guns from a house in the 1200 block of Gates Street, according to the release. They included AR-15-style rifles, a sawed-off rifle, shotguns and handguns. There was also a 100-round drum ammunition magazine. One of the guns had been modified to fire fully automatically, and another had been reported stolen, police said.

They also seized cannabis, THC cartridges and almost 90 grams of cocaine.

Rosales was charged with manufacture or delivery of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a machine gun and possession of firearms without having a Firearm Owner’s Identification card, according to Kane County court records. He pleaded guilty to the machine gun and cocaine charges.

He is incarcerated at the Shawnee Correctional Center, with a projected parole date of April 2028.
