Huntley Unit District 158 board vacancy prompts call for applicants
Following board member Andrew Bittman’s resignation on Dec. 30, 2025, Huntley Unit District 158 is seeking applications for interested community members who would like to apply for a seat on the board of education. All interested applicants should submit a cover letter explaining their interest, including any potential conflicts of interest, and resume to the board and superintendent’s office by e-mailing these materials to Sharon Piemonte, executive assistant/board secretary, at spiemonte@district158.org.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the district for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.
Applications will remain open until 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026. All applicants can expect a follow-up communication from the board after the review of applications. In-person interviews will be conducted for selected individuals, during a meeting with the date and time to be determined.
More information on what that meeting and process will look like will be updated on huntley158.org. For questions about this process, contact the superintendent’s office at (847) 659-6103 or spiemonte@district158.org.
