Decency lost

Within two hours of the ICE shooting of Renee Good, both President Trump and Homeland Security Director Noem, without an investigation, claimed the dead woman was a “domestic terrorist” and defended the use of deadly force. A statement that has no basis in fact.

Gov. Walz in a press conference asked the immortal question raised in the 1954 McCarthy hearings: “Have you no sense of decency?”.

Every day, I and I believe many others wake up and ask the question: “What will Trump or the administration say or do today?” Without knowing any specifics, we know two things will be true. It will be a lie or a despicable, degrading comment on an individual, group or organization or both.

A Dec. 16, 2025, article in the New Yorker asked the question: “Have you ever in your life encountered a character as wretched as Donald Trump?”

We know the answer and that is why decency is lost.
