Language of our times
I am an old guy who grew up when political disagreements were still basically civil in the 1950s. I really don’t even remember the media attacking Eisenhower for every single act he attempted.
It was basically a time of civility. I didn’t even learn to swear until I took the school bus to camp when I was 11. On a rare occasion when someone on TV used an expletive, it was blacked out.
Today, I was watching and listening to the mayor of Minneapolis using one F-word after another while he was attacking the ICE federal agents in his city. I mean one after another. If all was so OK in Minnesota, I don’t think the last vice presidential candidate would have just dropped out of his run for re-election as Minnesota governor.
Come on, the mayor of a major Midwestern city using one F-word after another — in public no less.
