All will benefit from Trump’s success

Great to see you start off the new year with a letter from Bob Shea, urging readers to overlook our president’s personal faults and asking them instead to zero in on what it is they do not like about what Trump is trying to do to better our country.

There are two things to remember when doing so: (1) MAGA stands for Make America Great Again, which equates to (2) making America First. I and others who want to see this country No. 1 agree that if Trump is successful in many of Mr. Shea’s 17 mentioned objectives, America will be, too.

The message is that we must find common ground to work together to the benefit of all Americans. This is a path that we have been on during this past year, despite TDS opposition to everything that Trump attempts to do. Simply put — if our president is successful in obtaining his goals for America, we will all benefit.

Finally, we should live by that worn-out adage: “Don’t shoot the messenger,” for in doing so, we are only shooting ourselves in the foot.
