$400K damage to trucks, vehicles in East Dundee fire

Three semi-tractor car haulers and multiple vehicles on one of their trailers were damaged in a fire Friday in a truck parking lot in East Dundee.

The fire happened around 12:02 p.m. at 590 Healy Road, according to a news release from the East Dundee Fire Protection District.

Nobody was injured, but the trucks and vehicles sustained about $400,000 damage, according to the fire district.

The news release said a mechanical failure in one of the car haulers, which had been left running, caused the fire.

A lack of fire hydrants complicated the fire-fighting effort, the district said.
