Lake Zurich residential polystyrene recycling site open Friday

Lake Zurich’s drop-off recycling site for polystyrene blocks, commonly referred to by the trademarked name Styrofoam, will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, to accommodate large amounts of holiday gift packaging.

The drop-off site is at the American Legion parking lot, 51 Lions Drive.

Material should have the appropriate symbol and be loose with no boxes, paper or plastic bags. Packing peanuts are not accepted. The collection is for residential use only.

Going forward, the village is seeking a volunteer or volunteers to manage Friday drop-offs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Anyone interested should email erin.rauscher@lakezurich.org.
