Geneva Unitarian church celebrates Christmas with three holiday services

The Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva invites everyone in the community to celebrate the joys of the Christmas season at three special services, each to be held in the church’s historic sanctuary at 102 S. Second St. in downtown Geneva.

The holiday week begins with an all-ages Christmas Pageant Service on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m., capturing the wonder of Christmas with a joyful blend of carols, readings and a lively retelling of the birth of Jesus featuring children from the congregation.

Then on Wednesday, Dec. 24, two different Christmas Eve services will be offered. At 4 p.m., the family service will include beloved carols and readings that capture the spirit of the season. Led by the Rev. Alan Taylor, this all-ages service will conclude in the soft glow of candlelight, with hot chocolate and holiday cheer to follow.

Later that evening at 7 p.m., Rev. Taylor will welcome Christmas Eve with a peaceful and inspiring candlelight service, featuring the shared singing of cherished carols as well as holiday music from the church choir — a reflective and beautiful way to honor the meaning of this special night.
