Bowes Creek, Fitchie Creek and Hampshire forest preserves will be closed for asphalt preservation work Oct. 17

Asphalt preservation projects are expected to begin Monday, Oct. 17 and be finished the same day, at three forest preserves.

SKC Construction will be sealing cracks and painting the parking lot at Bowes Creek Woods Forest Preserve in Elgin, Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve in Elgin, and Hampshire Forest Preserve in Hampshire. The preserves will be closed when work is being conducted and will reopen the next day. If there is inclement weather, the project will be pushed back to Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County asks preserve users to obey all signs and barricades, and to always use caution when traveling past trucks and equipment. Signs will be posted at the preserve parking lots, to alert trail users of the closure.
